Buying or Selling a Vehicle?
Get Your VIN Verified
Maybe you just moved to Florida with a car still titled in another state, or you picked one up that’s never been registered here. Before the tax collector will title it, someone has to physically check the VIN and the odometer. And if the car isn’t tagged or won’t start, driving it down to an office isn’t really an option.
Florida gives new residents 30 days to title and register a vehicle once they take a job, enroll a child in school, or sign a lease here. With people relocating to the Lakeland area all the time, out-of-state vehicles that need this inspection are common. A Florida notary is one of the parties the state authorizes to verify a VIN, so you’re not stuck waiting on law enforcement or a dealer.
We complete and notarize Form HSMV 82042, recording the VIN from the windshield and the door jamb along with your odometer reading, so you can take it straight to the tax collector. We’ll meet you at home, at your office, or wherever the vehicle is parked across Polk, Hillsborough, and Pinellas Counties. Most used vehicles coming from out of state need this check, for cars, trucks, motorcycles, RV’s and heavier trailers, and we come to the vehicle to handle it.
